Dennis (Yuxuan) Liu is the Founding and Managing Partner of Tiger Partners, a Beijing-based boutique law firm specializing in high-stakes commercial dispute resolution. Since establishing the firm in 2019, he has built it into one of the most recognized dispute resolution practices in the Asia-Pacific region - a firm that, despite its deliberately lean size, has earned virtually every major legal accolade the region has to offer.
PROFESSIONALBACKGROUND
Dennis began his legal career in 2009 after graduating from Peking University Law School, one of the top law schools in Asia. Over the following decade, he honed his craft at four of China's most prestigious "Red Circle" law firms - Zhong Lun Law Firm, King & Wood Mallesons, Fangda Partners, and Jingtian & Gongcheng - where he quickly earned a reputation for tenacity, strategic creativity, and an unusual willingness to take ownership of complex matters far beyond his seniority. By 2018, he had made partner at Jingtian & Gongcheng.
Then, rather than settling into the comfort of partnership at an established firm, he made a bold move: in 2019, he co-founded Tiger Partners to pursue a vision of what a modern dispute resolution practice could be - lean, focused, and unafraid to challenge convention.
At the same time, Dennis (Yuxuan) Liu has continued to invest in his academic and professional development. As of 2026, he is pursuing an Executive LL.M. degree at Columbia Law School.

Dennis's practice is defined by cases that break new ground. He represented a formerly NASDAQ-listed company in what became the first Directors & Officers liability insurance dispute in China to result in a definitive arbitral award, ultimately securing over USD 20 million in insurance recovery across multiple coverage layers spanning Mainland China, Hong Kong, and the United States. He has defended leading international accounting firms in high-profile tort disputes brought by major state-owned banks with claims exceeding USD 50 million. He has won complex investment arbitrations, shareholder disputes, and real estate cases at the Beijing Arbitration Commission, the Shanghai International Arbitration Center, and the Supreme People's Court of China.
One of his landmark achievements was persuading the Supreme People's Court to overturn both the first-instance and second-instance judgments in a case that, for the first time, recognized the civil litigation standing of a homeowners' committee - a decision now included in the People's Court Case Database as a leading case in its field.

He serves as a Member of the Commercial Arbitration Law Professional Committee of the Beijing Lawyers Association and as Deputy Director of the Arbitration and Mediation Business Research Association of the Beijing Chaoyang District Lawyers Association. An avid gamer since his university days - when he captained the Peking University Warcraft III team - he remains a dedicated player across platforms, with a particular fondness for Overwatch.
